Karisma Kapoor is one of the ruling Bollywood actresses in the 90's era, who rose to prominence by starring in some of the biggest box office hits. With her super-hit movies and iconic songs, the actor has been winning our hearts for years.
She was the first woman from the celebrated Kapoor family to have worked in films. Karisma began appearing on the silver screen during 1991 to date, with a total of over 60 movies to her credit.
Particularly inspired by the work of actresses Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit, Karisma was keen on pursuing acting since childhood. While growing up, Kapoor regularly attended award ceremonies and accompanied her parents to film sets.
She studied for a few months at Sophia College but later said that she left college to pursue acting for financial independence.
At 17 years of age, the actress made her Bollywood debut with Prem Qaidi in 1991. She subsequently featured in films like Anari (1993), Coolie No. 1 (1995), Raja Hindustani (1996), Dil Toh Pagal Hai (1997), Hum Saath Saath hain (1999), Fiza (2000), and Zubeidaa (2001).
She’s an ardent follower of physical exercise and promotes healthy and fit living through her social media and often shares glimpses from her life with her fans on Instagram.
